Carl was born in Wilmington on April 15, 1933 to the late John Warren and Mildred Thompson Fullwood.

His career was spent with the Atlantic Coastline, CSX Railroad in Jacksonville, FL, Richmond, VA, Louisville, KY, and Mobile, AL. He served in the North Carolina, National Guard.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Rebecca Lynn Jones Fullwood; daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Fullwood and granddaughter Christa Fullwood, all of Wilmington; brother Larry Fullwood of Marlow Bucks, England; and sister Mildred Johansen of Seattle, Washington, plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His funeral will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, with Rev. John McGee officiating. Visitation following the service. A private burial will take place.
